This year is the centenary of the death of Carel Jozeph Grips. This painter, who lived and worked in Vught for most of his life, has a considerable selection of genre pieces, still lifes and landscapes to his name, which are exhibited in several museums. Carel Jozeph was also the patriarch of a Vught family of artists. Carel Jozeph Grips and his family members, however, are only known in small circles. This was the reason for setting up the C.J.Grips foundation.
